League Rules
Guidelines, rules and other BS!
Every league has dos and don'ts and the GPL is no different. Below are some things to remember while playing.
Make sure to follow all course policies of Tanglewood Golf Course. Please visit their website for more information.
Don't be a dick! There are many different levels or players in this league from very experienced to very novice so please be patient and have fun.
Disputes or issues during league play will be settled by the "Committee of 4" consisting of Brian Voss, Jeff Converse, Eric McDonald, and Leigh McBain.
Weather and Rain outs: We follow the course's policy for severe weather such as thunderstorms or other severe weather. Rain outs will be decided by the "Committee of 4" at the earliest possible time dependent on forecasts.
Winter rules will apply - clean mud off, roll out of hole (embedded), no closer to hole and you cannot roll out of trouble (from behind tree or other obstacle). Basic common sense, lift clean and place. If questions, simply ask the person you are playing and let that be the final decision. Other than that, standard rules of golf.
Subs - Each person is responsible for getting their own subs. Please provide your sub's name and contact information to Leigh M. & Brian V. so the schedule and scores sheet can be updated. Please see League Course Play page for more information.
No Shows - In an effort to make scoring more equitable, if a league player isn't able to play they will give their opponent 3 strokes + 20%.
Example: To clarify.... If Eric is playing Brian, Brian's a 10 HC, Eric's a 16 HC. Brian give Eric 6 if they played. If Brian doesn't show (Sub or not), Eric now play the course as a 20 HC. (16 + 3 + 1(6x20%=1.2)) If Eric doesn't show, Brian plays the course as 13 (10+2+0) Round up at .5. Points will still be split between the 2 players. If Eric got 13 points, Brian would get 7.
8. Skins and Greenies - Franko Gonzales will be collecting each week for skins and Greenies. Please see the Skins & Greenies page for more rules and guidelines for this.
